A beautifully illustrated, thoroughly researched story of the oldest seaside hotel in America... a place where presidents roamed the hallways and infamous gamblers raised the stakes at the Blue Pig casino. A place that no one thought would survive... a place they used to call Tommy's Folly.
"This is a lot more interesting than a book about a hotel has any right to be. Then again, this is no ordinary hotel." Jay McInerney
"Tommy's Folly is packed with fascinating anecdotes and charming vintage photos that together tell a salt-scented, brightly hued story of the colorful characters who never gave up on Congress Hall, Cape May's grandest old hotel." Amy Donohue, Philadelphia Magazine

Any fan of Cape May, history and/or architecture will love this bicentennial edition of Tommy's Folly. I am in awe of Curtis Bashaw and his talented sister, Colleen. The restoration of Congress Hall is amazing and pays a wonderful homage to the storied history of this great beach resort. A must read!
